In a typical washing operation, fine sand is carried off with the process water and ends up in settling ponds, where it is effectively lost and has to be dredged out later. SANDEXX intercepts that fine fraction.
A bucket wheel scoops the sand from the water and de-waters it as it turns, so what comes off the wheel is a clean, drained sand rather than a slurry. That recovers material that would otherwise be wasted, cuts the load on settling ponds, and helps a site reuse more of its process water.
